Birds and animals and insects as well, all flocked about him,
waiting to hear his latest adventures.

A heart goes out to the young fellow – knowing he can’t really communicate with his animal friends.
He could only pretend.
What is the good of pretending when you can find something real to occupy your mind?
It’s quite a sight though, to see how they flock around him.
It seems – almost – as if they are talking with him.
What the heck! Why not humor him? After all, he’s only a child!

It’s funny – how – in the end – your life is based on mostly pretend.
