Too late to save his marriage but suppose such is life
His lovely ex spouse Miranda is now some one else’s wife.

Too drunk for to make love to her he seemed a sorry sight
She found another lover and for him she left Joe
He did not try to win her back or grieve to see her from him go.
The reason Joe gave up the grog is his health was in decay
His Doctor told him you will die if you don’t give the booze away
So this time last year he went on the water waggon his health is on the mend
And now he feels much happier since his drinking days did end.
After work every evening he walks his border collies Sam and Tess
He looks happier and healthier this time last year he was in a mess
Now he can pass the pub by his fortitude is strong
And he loves his walks in Nature and he know birds by their song.
Big Joe is in his early thirties and enjoying his grog free life
And he does not have a fiance and he does not miss his ex wife
There’s more to life than booze and women I have my dogs he say
