In the praise of Ganesha,
Lord Ganesha
With the hands folded
At the temple entrance
Offering water and flower petals
Just before the start of my worship
And olden artistic statues dancing,
dancing before the eyes
Made in different styles,
From different objects
Rock-cut, made from clay,
Wooden and painted,
Ganesha aschild
Of Shiva-Parvati,
Ganesha as dearer to Parvati,
Ganesha in an elephantine face
Looking so bizarre and grotesque
But blissful blessing
With wealth and prosperity,
The god of arts and sciences.
