Some distance from London where they have lived for some time
Their children young adults are now in their prime.
Inchaleigh near the Town of Millstreet is Joan’s old Homeplace
Where decades ago her’s was a familiar face
And Joe from Barraduff from Millstreet not far
Perhaps at the most twenty minutes by car.
In the Duhallow and Sliabh Luachra I knew as a boy
The changes keep happening and how time seems to fly
And changes too happening for Joan and for Joe
And even in their old Townlands some they will not know.
They are leaving busy London for their old Homeground
For to live in the old Townland with hills all around
And one can only wish for them happiness in their new life
Joe the man from Sliabh Luachra and Joan his good wife.
To green old Duhallow where the Winters are cold
Joe Moynihan and Joan Hickey are going home to grow old
To where Finnow waters ever journey down
Through the fields and boglands west of Millstreet Town.
