where cross words are never spoken
and love rules by gentle persuasion
where doors are open with beckoning friendship
and lovers are seen hand in hand
across fields of green and golden sands.
I wish I could linger moments longer
but the morning hours are calling me
from across the dreamy sea
a world sometimes to harsh to bare
awaits my returning
another day of toil
aching muscles over rich soil
a family must be fed
so there’s no more time
to lie and dream in bed.
