Her name was Kathleen Buckley she was Annagloor’s Rose
And now she rests forever in eternal repose.
She hailed from Sliabh Luachra one of a famous clan
And she did not live on to be old her’s not a lengthy span
She went off to the reaper the reaper who will claim us all
But memories of a lovely woman with fondness we’ll recall.
There ought to be a monument to celebrate her life
Devoted to her children and to Tom a faithful wife
And her life worth celebrating for she did the best she could
For to lead by good example in her there was so much good.
The years go by so quickly and our lives a flickering flame
Yet I hope she did not suffer before the reaper came
For to take the living breath from her I hope she died in peace
That from life her departure was a painless release.
Beside the home she lived in the babbling river flow
And to the fields of Annagloor the Seasons will come and go
And we’ll remember Kathleen until our departure day
And time’s clock keeps on ticking it ticks and ticks away.
The reaper too will claim us but that’s life I suppose
Farewell to the lovely Kathleen she was Annagloor’s Rose,
I hope her end was peaceful that she did not suffer pain
But a great loss to Annagloor is surely Heaven’s gain.
