Appearances can so deceive you’ve heard that said before
And the one who has the cheery smile may have the rotting core.
The way that we present ourselves of us a tiny part
And the woman we think very nice may be a bitch at heart
She say her ex husband the unfaithful one had a mistress on the sly
But he will tell you that’s not true and she’s been known to lie.
The fellow with the wit and charm has proved the big letdown
‘Twas yesterday you only heard that he moved out of Town
Six old people their life savings gone he conned them in his scheme
His charm a cover for deceit he is not how he seem.
Big Jack the sour face never smile and to few he say hello
But those who know the man quite well say better you could not know
He’s never even been to church like others do to pray
But for those who are in need of help he goes out of his way.
Don’t judge the book by the cover a saying from long ago
And the one you think very nice their true side you may not know
And the one you think sour and withdrawn may have a heart of gold
His inners may be glowing and warm though his outers may seem cold.
