But there ought to be far more to life than the Me, Myself and I
Though those three will be with us until the day we die.
This thing known as self centredness that to thoughts of self lead
Some call it self survival whilst others call it greed
You call it either of those two or call it what you may
‘Tis something that will be with us till our life’s final day.
The achievements of human kind in time itself is a fleeting history
And even for the great artists and writers no such a thing as immortality
The great artistic and literary works will eventually go the way of doggerel rhyme
And be forever lost one day in the great sands of time.
When we feel so self important we kid ourselves we do
For there is more to life than Me, Myself and I there is one known as You
And nothing last forever or so ‘twould seem that way
And the greatest works of human kind will even die one day.
