The sunshine is bright and warm in the park of the Town
And on the deciduous trees not yet one leaf is brown.
The creek barely flowing through paddocks bare and dry
And the dark welcome swallows they chirp as they fly
Above the brown landscape they chase flies and bees
On a warm day with a high of 25 degrees.
The first day of the Fall with only a slight breeze
The sheep are huddled together in the cool shade of the trees
And on a sunlit gum tree a male magpie sing
A songter for all Seasons Winter, Summer, Fall and Spring.
The first day of March and of the Southern calendar Fall
And the changes from Summer not visible at all
The creek almost empty slowly trickles by
And the sun shining bright in a clear and blue sky.
