Four days of rain and river flowing bank high
And welcome sun you brighten up the sky.
The woods are green a gentle southern breeze
And pleasant to sit in cool shade of the trees
For the weekend sun lovers gone to sea
And I alone the woods belong to me.
The rain swelled creek by silent gum trees flow
And fair hued butterflies flit to and fro
And wildering flowers of every different hue
Of pink and white and yellow, red and blue.
Sun lovers gone to sea and sunlit bay
And the woods all mine on the Spring’s first warm day
Goodbye to cloudy skies and wind and rain
And so nice to see the sun shine out again.
