In this wide and brown Southern Land his bones at rest now lay
Guiseppe was an honest man he went to earth today.
In his eighty first year of life he was born in nineteen twenty three
That’s old in terms of human life though some older far than he
He now lay with his beloved wife Claudia she died two years ago
Their children are grand-parents now the family numbers grow
A well known figure of the Town and none better liked than he
And a character in his own right and as honest as can be
A kind and generous fellow and charming in his own way
And the accent of the old Homeland till death with him did stay.
Today around his coffin his friends and family
Shed tears for a beloved one such a sad sight to see
The bell that rung for Guiseppe one day for us all will ring
The Reaper claims the poorest and the Reaper claims the king
He too had his own worries but of worries he made light
Today they buried Guiseppe he rest in peace tonight
He was a generous fellow in him there was much good
And one of those kind people who would help you if he could.
