And everywhere the answer no the answer much the same
We are sorry mate there are no jobs here but leave your phone number and name.
I’ve been retrenched due to circumstances beyond my control
And I’m too proud too proud a man to apply for the dole
And all I ask for is a job a job of any kind
And though I walk and search and search and walk a job I cannot find.
And all I ask for is a job but no work anywhere
When times get tough the working man is treated quite unfair
He’s fodder for the capitalists they use him for their gain
He’s used to boost their bank account and then flushed down the drain.
And not forgetting the Government they too must take some blame
They squander workers taxes without remorse or shame,
The workers pay their salaries the workers always pay
Yet they treat the workers as expendable and the workers get no say.
And all I ask for is a job but jobs only for the chosen few
And everywhere the answer is we have no work for you
We have no work for you today but call some other time
And all I ask for is a job and does that seem a crime?
