It is like a cold black mass
with nothing warm for me to caress
and with a heart cold as stone
in this wilderness I walk alone.
With no one to guide me or show me the way,
I find less peace with everyday.
I find living getting harder to bear
with no one around to love or care.
It is like the words a teacher might teach;
lest they are grasped, they lay out of reach.
A heart of emptiness
seems all I possess
as the world revolves around me
I wish I could like everyone else, find tranquillity;
I have gone too far into despair
for me to find a paradise fair.

Author’s note.
I have a feeling I wrote this in the middle of the 1960’s when I felt insecure about myself and having no girlfriend at the time I wrote out my sadness in pieces like this.
