Know that many of those who were born and raised here will say
He was not one of ours he came from far away.
He was not one of ours he came from another Land
Their kind of reasoning I don’t understand
As if I were not a human being at all
Some people in their thinking seem so small.
Not one of ours as if I were an ape
And from another planet did escape
To live amongst them for three decades of years
And with some of them often drank a few beers.
If I should live in this country town till my life will end
I can’t be a local then why should I pretend
That I like those who like to pigeon hole
When I like them too have a heart and soul.
