A hero to the handicapped your memory is ‘FLAME’
And in Millstreet you are still revered as an immortal name.
You did not live to ripe old age grim reaper came too soon
But only the good die young they say and you passed on in life’s noon
And Millstreet was the big loser for none could take your place
But those who knew you still recall your happy handsome face.
Though some may say who comes or goes life still will carry on
Good people cannot be replaced and their loss felt when they’re gone
And those who work for worthy cause and help those most in need
Are worthy of huge accolade and by example lead.
And Jerry Hickey was such a man and his worth can’t be denied
And he is missed from Millstreet Town and his passing left a
void
He did his best and his best was great and it would seem fair to say
That for those he felt worthy of help he went out of his way.
Rest in peace Jerry Hickey for you do deserve your rest
And what better can one say of you but that you did your best
And that your best was good enough your monument is ‘FLAME’
And in Millstreet you are still revered as an imortal name.
