His brief life of adventure was lived in life’s fast lane
And the question is still pondered will we see his likes again?
Time has witnessed many Seasons since he found his lasting peace
Since the famous bard from England drew his final breath in Greece
The man Caroline Lamb a former lover said was mad, bad and dangerous to know
But his verses are still living though the seasons come and go.
We would need a poet like Byron in the World of today
For he fought against injustice and on it had much to say
In his time one might say of him he cut some tall poppies down
And he humbled a few bullies on his roadway to renown.
He had his human frailties his biographers recall
But in the war against injustice his contribution far from small
And he became known and famous far beyond old England’s shore
And his verse and biting satire will live on forever more.
