In Hawkesdale in the Southern Grampians it is such a beautiful day
If there is an Earthly Utopia from here it can’t be far away.
The silky oaks in their blossoms a beautiful sight to behold
They glisten in the afternoon sunshine in their colours of a rich gold
In Nature there is so much beauty especially at this time of the year
In the early days of the Summer far south in the southern hemisphere.
Hawkesdale in the Southern Grampians a Village far from the nearest big Town
Surrounded by flat and wide paddocks from hours of sunshine bronzed and brown
On the electrical powerlines by the roadway the goldfinches chirp and sing
Each species distinctive in their song Nature is a marvellous thing.
As near to an Earthly Utopia as anyone could wish to know
The creek it is down to a trickle one might say it does look quite low
A day’s rain would be very welcome but even without much needed rain
Hawkesdale still looks very beautiful ’tis a place I will visit again.
