The wisdom in their thinking one might say is profound
Yet wise people in plenty they never do abound
The wise they are discerning they have a mind of their own
Far apart from petty jealousies and self interest they have grown
The wisdom in their thinking cannot be bought or sold
And it is a misconception that the wise have to be old
Those who claim that wisdom to the aged belong to argument give rise
You may be in your eighties but you may not be wise
Wisdom does not come through education despite what some might say
And the wise may be in their twenties or they may be old and gray
You may be a very wealthy one a proclaimed millionaire
But you may not be a wise one for the wise are very rare.
