The brightest one
that stands out the most
is the scarlet ribbon
worn across the chest.
Some may call it
by a different name,
the red badge of courage,
but to me it is still
the scarlet ribbon
worn for all to see.
Sadly, most of these ribbons
are worn posthumously.
