and kiss them goodnight.
Telling them when the sandman calls
into dreamland, they will fall.
Hearing the sweet sounds
from the sugar plum fairies
and marching feet of the toy soldiers
as the gingerbread men dance
to the fairies tunes.
Lollipops and candy canes
decorate the walls
of the marshmallow houses
that line the yellow brick road
on the way to see the wizard.
Walking through a mirror
raises another world to explore
with a mad tea party
with many tarts to devour
until the bluebird’s morning call.
With sleepy eyes awake,
the night dreams disappear
from our little dreamers head
as they see the twinkle
in the sun’s big yellow eye.
