I come to you today but not for me,
but for a dear friend
whom is going into hospital
on Friday for an operation.
I know that she is nervous about it.
Therefore, I am coming to you dear Lord today
to ask if you would stand at her bedside
and ease all her fears
and stay at her side
until the operation is done
to ensure that she will be all right.

your new glorious day,
we may be surrounded by enemies.
Let us stand tall and face them,
with a smile of friendship on our face,
and not with the contempt
that is so visible in their eyes,
and as we walk towards them,
protect us with your gown of faith
we wear for all to see.
Let them see we mean no harm,
and that we are not meek.
Let them see our outstretched hands,
in friendship, not war.
Oh, Lord give us the strength
to do this not only today,
but every day in our journey,
from the cradle to the grave.
Amen

I pray not for myself,
but for all those lost souls within our world.
For those who feel themselves
not worthy of any mortal standing.
Those who are so convinced by their mind
that they haven’t any friends.
Those who are constantly persecuted
by their own thoughts of weakness
that they fear the company of others
and even fear at times to venture outside.
I pray to you to let them know
that it is only in their mind.
To urge them to rejoice with people
that they do not know,
for there they will surely find friends
they never dreamed they ever had.
Please Lord for my sake help them all today.

Help us when we are betrayed and crucified
for something we have never done
nor was ever going to do.
Give us the strength to face the challenges
of starting our life a new.
Give us the guidance as we move forward
into the new life when resurrecting ourselves.
Amen
