For time is all our master and of everyone takes care
It even rust out iron and leave everything worse for wear.
When human made clocks stop ticking old father time ticks on
He will still be ticking in centuries of years after the life from me has gone
For as long as the stars and moon will shine at night and the sun lights up the day
The hands of father time will turn and turning they will stay.
A very long lived human being lives for a century
On the door of my sixth decade how much time is left for me
How many dawns and sunsets will I survive to see
Before I am lost forever like a lost memory?
When I look back the decades how fleeting was my life prime
The years seem to go so quickly when looking back in time
And every form of life on Earth is tagged with a use by date
And the hands of time keep turning and time on none does wait.
