And though home is where the heart is some are known to say
I still yearn for new places and new towns far away
From the quiet town in the brown lands where i now reside
The roads and the highways they lead far and wide
To places I’ve not seen in the World out there
Home cannot be where the heart is when the heart is elsewhere.
The lust of the wander is not a good thing
A restlessness to the soul it does seem to bring
For places that one has not been in before
And other Lands that are distant from this shore.
I envy those who do have a sense of place
Their local communities they happily embrace
They seem so content for to live where they are
And they never do yearn for places afar.
The old bug of wander in me does remain
And i long to be back on the highway again
More places to go to and more places to see
The yearn for travel has not died in me.
