The road is quiet and the meadows wide
All you need is to keep your gloom aside
Dad, you were once such a charming debonair
Of late I see you reclining on your arm chair
How we want you to be smart as before
And see the lost cheer, you quickly restore
On this fine morning let us roam a bit
When tired, in the shade of trees, we will rest
Such outings are needed for your health
You used to remind us that health is wealth
Seeing you thoroughly lost, causes us much pain
How we like to see our dad smiling once again
It is depressing to see you so feeble and faint
Know that you are absolutely free of any complaint
If your sharp senses, once more you employ
Do you know how great will be our joy!
Why you refuse to listen and pretend to be deaf?
All we strive is to see you return to your former self
Why keep unnecessary anxieties inside?
Be assured, we are always by your side
Know that you have no cause for alarm
Believe, you are free of all serious harm
The love you lavished on us, we can never forget
Your present lackluster spirit is all that we object
Don’t sit here so lonely, brooding and yawning
Come on Dad! Let us go for a walk this morning!
