The sea birds are circling the sunlit wooded hill
And the ocean looks calm and the waves all but still.
‘Tis nice to be out in the fresh coastal air
A temporary relief from the stress of life’s care
Though the voices of the stall holders and the music of the Carnival I hear
On the wooded hillside it is quite peaceful here.
Amongst the leaves of an acacia a tiny thornbill sing
Perhaps he’s mistaken the Autumn for Spring
The weather is warm though a freshening sea breeze
Is blowing up the hillside and soughing in the trees
Though in the workings of Nature we don’t have a say
We thank Mother Nature for days like today
The sun shining bright on the hill by the sea
A memory to cherish in my memory.
