looking at each item
for the best before sell by date,
now let’s just stretch our imagination
and think of us human beings;
what would they put
as our best before sell by date?
For a man they might put sixty
as they go downhill rapidly after that.
They need Viagra to boost their libido,
the stomach bulges
while the rest of the body shrivels.
Their heads become billiard balls
with no hair there at all.
As for the women they might put seventy.
The petite figure has gone
along with the waist line.
Their bumpers once straight now sag so much
they begin to look at the floor.
Their hair once gold
becomes a grey or white mop.
Old age when it creeps in
and it does it all the time
with its lines and bulges
makes want to act
like we were young,
but our stamina is all gone.
Along with missing teeth and hair
we become well past
our best before sell by date.
