able to know God is:‘The knowledge of every knoweris ruled according toits own nature’ (Summa Theologiae I: 12: 4) .This follows from another principle:action follows being (ST I: 75: 3) .In other words, somethingacts according to its mode of being.Since humans are embodiedbeings we cannot know Godunless God Himself reveals.
to a problem, we mustassume that thatthe answer existsalready, somewhere,and set out to find it.Once a scientist attacksa problem which he knowsto have an answer, hisentire attitude is changed.
scripture, Peterreminds us thatthe Word of Godgives illumination,revelation andinspiration from God.He identifies thewritten Word asa light that shinesin the darkness,which lightensour journey throughthis increasinglydark world.
